The Breakfast Club interviews Bleu Davinci

Earlier this week The Breakfast Club had a phone interview with BMF’s Bleu Davinci and he candidly discussed his issues with Young Jeezy. This call comes after his recent release from jail where he was arrested for “conspiracy with intent to distribute.”

Bleu began to immediately explain how Jeezy was once a part of the BMF crew and why. “He was but it all used to be. But the issue now is not he playing Meech name that he keep recording was from like 2009. But he ain’t doing what he suppose to do, so he know what time it is. He ain’t doing what he suppose to do period. At the end of the day if you can get Meech on the phone it would be a different tune that he singing.”

Ultimately, Bleu says that Jeezy is not as supportive as he should be when it comes to contributing to the bill for Meech’s appellate case.

“I mean he won’t do nothing period. At the end of the day, I just talked to big homie recently and he’s like, ‘It’s crazy that the rapper that was connected with the fam that ended up having much success and he’s doing his thang and he’s in a position to make a difference in Meech life right now, he aint stepping up to the plate right now.’ It’s crazy that I gotta come home and rebuild this BMF brand from ground zero and do it all on my own when we got somebody that’s running around and saying he love the man and he got him 100% and all that and it’s easy for him to just step up and just say, ‘Let me cut this check and make sure dude all right. But then the selfishness sticks in and the Hollywood and the lights and the camera’s, it just blurrs people vision sometimes you know?

However, Bleu reached out to Jeezy and that’s where he says Jeezy’s true colors were revealed.

“Look, I came home and I tracked his number down. I called him and I’m like, ‘What up this Bleu.’ He was like, ‘Bleu who?’ I say man, this Bleu Davinci and he say, ‘Oh, what’s up?’ So I say let’s sit-down and chop it up and figure out the move, what the play is. He said, ‘All right, let me hit you right back.’ Two days pass and my people in Detroit like my man got a show at Fox Theater, call him so we can get some tickets to come. I said all right let me call him and when I called him the number was changed. I said man, what part of the game is this? This must be overtime. That’s how all the funk got started so from then on I just knew what it was. At the end of the day I got Meech as my best interest.”

Aside from the existing beef, Bleu did explain that all love has not been lost for Jeezy.

“At the end of the day we all love Jeezy, I ain’t gon’ say I hate the man. My whole thing is to just keep it honest, just keep it real. If them people on your back, or you can’t do nothing, or you set something up or for us to leave you alone and you can’t really help the situation, just let it be known. Don’t keep running around and putting on to the people that you really doing something and you ain’t. This is a serious situation and we got some action getting back in the streets with this appellate case that could overturn or cut his time down or some technicalities going on throughout his ordeal.”

Listen to the interview for the rest of the BMF street saga!

The Breakfast Club interviews Tionna Smalls

Tionna Smalls came by The Breakfast Club to promote her new book titled Men Love Abuse: The Guide to Losing The Nice Girl Image & Getting The Man You Want. “Men do not like nice girls and nice girls are finishing last,” says Tionna. “Sometimes you got to treat a man like you don’t care. That’s abuse, not smacking, I don’t want you girls to get your behind whooped trying to listen to my book title.”

Angela asked the guys how they feel when a woman cries in front of them.

“It depends on what they’re crying about,” Charlamagne answers. “Like I told you about the young lady I was having sex with; Started crying right before I put it in. And I’m like, ‘Yo, it’s not that big!’”

“No, I think maybe it was too small,” Angela said.

C Tha God continued: “When I asked her why she was crying, she was like, ‘Because I want you to take me serious and I want to be with you.’”

“Was this before or after you got this job?,” Tionna asks.

“It was while I had it,” says Charlamagne. “Oo ok, mmm, we know what that means,” Tionna comments.

“I think she was making me pay for abuse that she had from men prior,” C concluded.

Angela asked the question: “Do men love abuse? Because it is true. We’re not talking about physical abuse. We’re talking about men prefer women that are a bit of a challenge, that are strong, that aren’t going to just immediately do what you want them to do.”

Tionna discusses why Chili’s had trouble in her relationships and C asks Tionna if she thinks Chili is a weak woman. “She not a weak woman, she’s more of a delusional woman, not a weak woman. Just a little delusional but that’s because she was raised in this industry at 19 years old. Guys used to just throw themselves at her. She never learned the principles it took to keep a man or get a man.”

Watch the rest of the interview for the discussion about dating, questions you should know and more!

The Breakfast Club interviews Kim Osorio

Kim Osorio joined The Breakfast Club to talk about her new (and old) position as editor-in-chief at The Source magazine. Kim was the first and only female EIC at The Source from 2000 until 2005. She talks about her lawsuit against the magazine and the rumors of an $8 million verdict in her case. She talks about the lawsuit and her time at the magazine in her book Straight From The Source.

“It is a full circle type of thing,” Kim says about rejoining The Source. “And I think for me and where I was at in my career, it was good to come back. I always felt like there was a lot of stuff I didn’t get to finish because of the way things ended. And I been talking to Londell [McMillan], who owns the magazine now, about how we can move it forward. In the past couple years, I think the brand, it’s been there and it’s survived, but there have been a little bit of bumps in the roads. I wanted to see it prosper. I’ve always believed in The Source brand, as many people in hip hop have.”

After her stint at The Source, she worked for BET.com and GlobalGrind.com. She discusses the presence of blogs and websites saying: “I don’t think people are doing it well. It’s not to knock the blogs. I love that they are very informative and entertaining and I love being a part of that. I look at them everyday but I think with magazine jounalism, we have to take it a step further. We have to do a lot of things you can’t really do online.”

She talks about the legendary 5 mic rating in The Source saying: “The mic ratings are very important so one of the things I want to restore is the credibility of the mic ratings system.” She stands by her claim that Lil Kim didn’t receive 5 mics and that it was indeed a 4 1/2 mic rating. She discusses blowing money fast early in the game, dealing with men in the industry, and Eminem.

The Breakfast Club interview Drita and Big Ang

Drita and Big Ang of Mob Wives came to visit The Breakfast Club where Drita talked about her fight with Karen and Big Ang discusses her connection to the show and more.

As the interview began, Angela shared how she learned Drita once worked at Short Hills Mall (NJ), her favorite mall. Big Ang then encouraged Drita to tell everyone the nickname her clients would call her and that was “Angel.”

Afterwards Angela asked Drita how it felt to have her failing relationship with Lee played out on the show.

“It’s extremely difficult and I’m really a private person. I probably wouldn’t have told anybody about it ever, so it’s really heard for me. The show is just difficult for me period, I don’t tell anyone anything. I did work in a department store for 6 years straight, for 55 hours a week and no one knew anything. They thought I had a husband at home; I don’t talk my business.”

Envy then asked Drita if there is anything that could be done to keep her from hitting people on the show. “I think I have to stay away from certain people, I don’t think I have a hand problem.” But Angela reminded her that she did swing first during her fight with Karen.

“I’m gonna tell you why [I hit first] I’ve been in bad situations, I’ve been jumped plenty of times. I can sense things and there is one thing I did sense and I’m gonna explain to you why I swung. Here’s Ramona here’s Karen, they’re standing right here we’re having a conversation right. So if we’re having a conversation there is absolutely no reason for neither one of you’s to move your spot. Karen’s standing here and she’s not a lefty, no reason to weasel your way around Ramona to be in the comfort zone on your right. So in my head, I said, if you (Ramona) move and if you (Karen) move, I’m moving. So [Karen] did this little move and as soon as she moved, I said it’s on and poppin’, I ain’t getting hit first. I know how they roll, they’ve done this before…”

Men are often cheating on the show but Drita was still surprised when she caught Lee and explained why.

“I don’t think I’m the only woman this happens to but, I had a relationship and a friendship with Lee and Lee was never out. What I learned from this cheating experience is men do cheat in the daytime. Lee was watching movies with me and my daughter at 9 o’clock at night going to bed -never saw him out; if he went out I went with him. Was I caught off guard? One thousand percent. Is he even home long enough to be doing this? In my opinion, ‘No.’ I would give you a free pass if you’ve been around for 12 years but you couldn’t even hold out for those two and I had to hold out? I don’t think so. Don’t get caught in the streets, I got pride!”

Big Ang, who is from Brooklyn, briefly explains the history she has with Drita.

“I’m from Brooklyn. I used to have a bar and she would beat up everybody, so she’s still doing the same thing. She used to beat them up and keep dancing and left them on the floor. I was like ‘Hello, the girl’s fucking half dead’ and she’s over there dancing and says, ‘She deserved it.’”

Angela asked Big Ang how she mangaged to stay so neutral on the show because everyone says she’s like a mother figure to them.

“I don’t know [Karen & Ramona], I don’t know their personal business. [Drita] I know from the ex-boyfriend. But I didn’t see Drita in ten years with her new family and her kids. Renee I know since she was a kid because I’m best friends with her aunt, her father’s sister. Carla I know from the previous guy she went out with in Brooklyn.”

The Breakfast Club interviews Bow Wow

Bow Wow, the first rapper to visit The Breakfast Club from the YMCMB camp, came to talk about his coming album Underrated, tearing up on 106 & Park when talking about his daughter, reconnecting with his father and more.

With a recent appearance on BET’s 106 & Park, Bow Wow almost teared up when he discussed his daughter. “She’ll be 1 in April and I’m not even gonna lie, it was hard for me to look at [Rocsi] while I was talking about [my daughter]. It’s a touchy situation because I love her so much and it is my first [child], but I had to reel it back, even Stunna was like:, ‘It look like you was about to drop one.”

Angela then mentioned reconnecting with his father and if that decision was inspired by his newborn daughter.“I did it out of self because it felt like something that I needed to do as a man.” It had been four years since Bow Wow and his father spoke and they stopped due to his father’s issue with alcohol.

“My father is a heavy alcoholic, been that way my whole life. I’m grown now and I felt like I wanted to connect with my fam and build what was lost. So that is why I reached out to him, it was all out of love and I guess he felt like I was tryna disrespect him somehow by having it on my webisode. But if you watch it, I was estatic talking to my pops like ‘what team you like? Who you running with this year?’ But then all of a sudden I see something crazy pop-up, from my two half-sisters, on the ‘net, they rachett ass.”

Charlamagne then advised Bow Wow to share his personal experiences on his next album to help him transition from being seen as a child star.

“I do, and that’s what makes this album so special. It’s less of the bling but, ‘Underrated’ is really my story, like Charlamagne just said he aint even know that [my father was an alcoholic] and that’s the same thing that Snoop said. I just put this 3-min video with Snoop talking about me. He said, ‘man you a fool, you do all these movies but you never did one on yourself?’ and I said to him nobody wants to see that. He said listen, you got a story that needs to be told regardless if it’s you or not. As a five-year old kid you were around Death Row, you was around me and Dr. Dre, we fell apart and you went to Atlanta. Someone else got you, you’re moms had to get in a car pack you, the story of a black woman, single woman, the whole nine yards and when he said it I was like, ‘Yo, that sounds crazy.’”

Watch the full interview for more especially for Bow’s timeless reaction when asked if he ever dated Kim Kardashian.

The Conversational Lush mixtape serves as a backdrop for the rainbow Elle Varner (MBK/J Records) who vocally paints that rainbow with 13 tracks, skits included. Songs like “Feel Like A Woman,” “Go,” and “EV” are a few of the “colors” Elle uses to paint this sonic rainbow.

On “EV,” Ms. Varner raps over Jay-Z’s “H To The Izzo:” “Blowing up on twitter, Oooh I (Oooh-I) I think they like me/Bet my ex-boyfriend wish he done wife’d me/When he call me up I’m gon’ decline him politely.” With a reggae twist, she sings to her boyfriend who is making her “Feel Like A Woman” (feat. Bei Maejor), “I don’t really know what you’re doin/But I feel like a woman with you, Feel like a woman with you.” On the song “Go,” Elle frantically sings over a fiery beat to her boyfriend, she wants him to stay. “I wanna grab on your feet/ and make a fool of myself and beg you desperately/ say you’ll never leave.”

Conversational Lush is more than enough to hold fans over until the release of her debut album Perfectly Imperfect, which has no official release date as of yet.

Chip Tha Ripper’s dropped a new mixtape recently title Tell Ya Friends which boasts guest features from Wale, CyHi The Prynce, Krayzie Bone, Bun B, KiD CuDi and more.

With “Good Evening” as the introduction track, it immediately sets the tone with a crunk beat, produced by Chip & Big Duke paired with bragging -but humorous- lyrics. “I aint got no license and I don’t really give a sh*t/This bit*h in my girl name, I pay for it, I’m whipping it, that codeine I’m sippin’ it.”

It’s on “25 Wives” featuring Wale that we see a softer side of Chip as he carefully raps his dream to eliminate the need to choose a perfect lady & to keep them all, similar to the challenge Ash experienced in Pokemon, remember that? “Just me with all ya, that would be so wonderful, that’ll b so wonderful/ make daddy proud I love everyone of you, my angels/I feel like Flava Flav but sexier/The sex is gon’ be messier.”

Krayzie Bone visits Chip on “Stay Sleep” where the two rap about trusting others and how they survive in the rap game.
“These n****s not my fam, these n****s is not my comrade/ We keeping the circle tight as a cheerio/That’s how I’m gon’ last in this world”
