Listen and download Chip Tha Ripper's new mixtape 'Tell Ya Friends'

Chip Tha Ripper’s dropped a new mixtape recently title Tell Ya Friends which boasts guest features from Wale, CyHi The Prynce, Krayzie Bone, Bun B, KiD CuDi and more.

With “Good Evening” as the introduction track, it immediately sets the tone with a crunk beat, produced by Chip & Big Duke paired with bragging -but humorous- lyrics. “I aint got no license and I don’t really give a sh*t/This bit*h in my girl name, I pay for it, I’m whipping it, that codeine I’m sippin’ it.”

It’s on “25 Wives” featuring Wale that we see a softer side of Chip as he carefully raps his dream to eliminate the need to choose a perfect lady & to keep them all, similar to the challenge Ash experienced in Pokemon, remember that? “Just me with all ya, that would be so wonderful, that’ll b so wonderful/ make daddy proud I love everyone of you, my angels/I feel like Flava Flav but sexier/The sex is gon’ be messier.”

Krayzie Bone visits Chip on “Stay Sleep” where the two rap about trusting others and how they survive in the rap game.
“These n****s not my fam, these n****s is not my comrade/ We keeping the circle tight as a cheerio/That’s how I’m gon’ last in this world”

Trae Tha Truth stopped by The Breakfast Club while he was in NYC promoting his new album Street King. He discusses performing his first show in New York on Monday and why he’s never performed here before. He talks about Trae Day being an official holiday in Houston. He discusses being approached by the mayor’s people after they saw his previous charitable work. They gave him a choice of two days and he chose July 22nd, the day before his son’s birthday.

He talks about why he got banned from Houston’s 97.9 The Box and the Radio One conglomerate. He said the ban stems from a shooting at his Trae Day event in 2009. The radio station blamed him for the shooting, but he stood up saying that the event is intended for a good purpose and that he had nothing to do with the shooting. He said everyone supported him, except for the radio station. He said it caught him off guard, in particular to have his own people bash him. Eventually, 4 DJ’s got fired, 1 got his show cut, and 1 was suspended (all allegedly for supporting Trae.)

Charlamagne asked him about his lawsuit against Radio One. He said he pulled back from the lawsuit, but that it wasn’t dismissed, so that he could re-file it at a later date if he wanted to. Angela asked him about Houston artists not going to his events anymore because of the ban.

He talks about chilling with Lil’ Wayne in Miami before he went to jail. He said Wayne’s on his new album on a song called “That’s Not Lub.” Fabolous used the same beat and an old Wayne verse on his latest mixtape, The Soul Tape. He talks about his group with Wyclef Jean called S.L.U.M.S. He also discusses recording with Young Buck but said he couldn’t get him on the album because of Bucks situation with 50 Cent. (Let him go Fif!)

They ask Trae about punching Mike Jones in the face at the Ozone Awards. He said he didn’t know that Mike’s mother was there at the time. He discusses why he punched him saying:

“When we was talking, we’re directly face to face. I’m making sure that nobody can hear what we’re talking about. One thing about me, I don’t care about that attention, all that causing a scene. We’re talking low until he started getting real reckless by the mouth. My thing is, I dont care if your trying to put on because people from out of town are here. Come on man, you know better than that. And at the end of the day, I told him what was about to happen…”

He went on to say that Mike kept talking reckless so he did what he did. He said the industry made it a bigger deal than it was. Angela asked Trae about the effect the ban has had on his money. Finally, he discusses his fifth album Street King and it getting pushed back a couple weeks because of a bar code issue. He said it should be out July 5th or 12th.

Big K.R.I.T. dropped his new mixtape album ‘Returnof4eva’ online for free. The album is produced entirely by Krit himself. Here’s what he had to say about the release.

I am proud to present “Return Of 4eva” to all my supporters, I took the past year to work on this project. I reached out to some of my favorite artists that I felt represented what this album was about. Ludacris, Bun B, David Banner, Chamillionaire, Big Sant, Joi & Raheem Devaughn all helped me to make my vision of this album complete. I hope you all love it.
Complex Magazine is back this week with the 25 Best Drake Verses of 2010. Drake came into the year with a huge buzz following the success of his game-changing mixtape So Far Gone in 2009. He released his debut album Thank Me Later in June. The album went number 1 and was certified platinum. The “Over,” “Find Your Love” and “Fancy” were successful on radio and elsewhere. Drizzy went on tour and sold out venues around the world. He is currently working on his sophomore album Take Care.

25. “Fancy” (3rd verse) – Drake feat. T.I. & Swizz Beatz
24. “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready) (Remix)” – Alicia Keys feat. Drake
23. “Made” – Big Sean feat. Drake
22. “To The Floor” – Rich Boy feat. Drake & Llloyd
21. “What’s My Name?” – Rihanna feat. Drake
20. “Gonorrhea” – Lil Wayne feat. Drake
19. “In The Morning” – J. Cole feat. Drake
18. “Put It Down” – Bun B feat. Drake
17. “Poppin’ Bottles” – T.I. feat. Drake
16. “Deuces (Remix)” – Chris Brown feat. Drake, Kanye West, T.I., Fabolous, Rick Ross & Andre 3000
15. “Moment 4 Life” – Nikki Minaj feat. Drake
14. “Unforgettable” – Drake feat. Young Jeezy
13. “Karaoke” – Drake
12. “Up All Night” – Drake feat. Nikki Minaj
11. “You Know, You Know” (2nd Verse) – Drake
10. “Thank Me Now” (1st Verse) – Drake
9. “Show Me A Good Time” (2nd verse) – Drake
8. “Over” (2nd verse)
7. “Right Above It” – Lil Wayne feat. Drake
6. “Fireworks” (2nd verse) – Drake feat. Alicia Keys
5. “Aston Martin Music” (Extended) – Rick Ross feat. Drake & Chrissette Michelle
4. “Light Up” – Drake feat. Jay-Z
3. “Miss Me” – Drake feat. Lil Wayne
2. “9 AM In Dallas” – Drake
1. “The Resistance” (3rd verse) – Drake

Complex says: It’s a tough call picking between the second and third verses on “The Resistance.” Both are excellent, emotional guilt trips as reality sets in on young Aubrey Graham and he’s forced to deal with everything from his grandmother’s living conditions to abortions by past lovers to having guns shoved in his face. We give the slightest of advantages to the third verse because he not only admits to being stuck up, but he even admits he was set up by a woman he trusted. In more ways than one, his entire demeanor is a violation of the machismo typical of so many rappers. But ultimately that raw emotion, stripped of any gangsta pretentiousness, is exactly what we’ve come to expect and love from Drake.

Scott says: I would’ve picked the first or second verse on “The Resistance” easily over the third as the best Drake verse of 2010.

The Yardfather returned to The Morning After last week after a long hiatus. Saigon takes a look back at his career over the past 9 years and reflects on the various ups and downs he’s been through in that time.

In the first part, Saigon talks about fatherhood and his relationship with Just Blaze. He says. “we brothers… our relationship is so much beyond business.” He talks about getting into a fight at his birthday party and Justins mom jumping in. He goes on to say “my problem has never been my talent… but it was always me making dumb decisions.”

Saigon recalls his history saying “I came and went a few times, every few years I pop up, I do something big, every few years I do something major and people recognize me, then I disapear.” He talks about first meeting Just Blaze in 2004 through Sickamore. Just hooked him up with G. Roberson and Kyambo “Hip-Hop” Joshua who signed him to Atlantic Records. He soon had “termoil” with the label after Hip-Hop “quit” a couple months later. Saigon says he didn’t want to leave on bad terms with Atlantic. He says “it just took me a very long time to leave with my music… they would let me go, just not with my music.”
