According to Diplo, he was in the studio last week with his Major Lazer collaborater Switch, Derek E. Miller of Sleigh Bells, and Beyoncé.

On Monday (Jan 24), Diplo — who is best known for his work with M.I.A. and as one-half of the duo Major Lazer — revealed that he, Beyoncé, and Derek of the indie electro-pop duo Sleigh Bells recently recorded music together in a New York studio.

“I like sleigh bells so much,” Diplo wrote on the blog for his label imprint, Mad Decent. “Me and switch was in studio in nyc tryin to make tracks with derek and beyonce last week after we played her team their album…dunno if we gonna manage to finish but it was good times.”

Sleigh Bells appeared to corroborate Diplo’s post with a somewhat crytpic message their Twitter page: “yeah damn beyonce on it was intense track may not get finished (?) but we finished the rum off at least”

At press time, Beyoncé’s rep did not respond to request for comment on the collaboration, and details on the star’s follow-up to 2008’s “I Am…Sasha Fierce” remain sparse. Other collaborators reportedly working on the set are Symbolic 1 (producer of Kanye West’s “Power” single), Sean Garrett, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.

All our DJ broskis know that everyone expects to hear the cliche songs such as “Thriller” or “Nightmare On My Street” around this time. We (dB really did all of this haha) decided to blend together clips from a horror movie classic, “Halloween,” with the AnimalStatuS anthem – Major Lazer’s “Pon De Floor.” To give it a little stank we threw in some Three 6 Mafia.
